VILASUGAR'S FERRIS WHEEL..

Hello and goodday everyone.. This is my very first time experiencing on writing a blog and I'm super excited as I've always wanted to have a blog of my own but never had the initiative to do so. Eventhough it is a part of my course requirement to do this, I am going to be using this blog as part of my social communication with others for the entire of my life. I had procastinate on this for a very long time and now finally I'm out of the world of "computer illiteracy". Once again, people, everything is about effort and how you take things serious when you are really into doing something "Thought of the day by Vilasugar".

It was early morning and all the doctors were away for breakfast. 21st November 1981 marked an important date in my parents' lives.My mother was admitted in the hospital for the labour pain and it took two days for her to get me out from her belly but I was adamant to stay in my "comfort zone". While the doctors were away, and no one was around, my mum had a great sneeze and there, my head popped out saying hello to everyone but the nurses around were freaked out and trying to calm things down. With some great push from my courageous mother, I'm finally out. My entry to this world was a big unpredictable moment and that is why people around me used to relate my character as an unpredictable one too until today. (Sigh...)

          thanks to my parents.. I am here to day and I am someone today..

Born as the only girl and the youngest of three siblings, my father named me as Vilashini, a name adapted by a famous pseudonym in a Tamil magazine that my father used to read in the 80's era. I must admit that I love my name as it brings the meaning of joy in Tamil and I admit I am one. I recalled those days when I used to thank my father for giving me this name as my classmates used to tag along weird names with them.

                        7 months old Vilasugar

As I grew older, I endured bad times frequently where I was bullied by my friends for having this name. My name was translated into sugarvila as "shini" brings the meaning of "sugar" in Tamil. But frankly, it didn't bother me at all. I loved it as well and I thank god as it meant sugar and nothing else( hope you all know what I meant).

Life was good and I could cope up in studies very well.I was an above average student. I love reading from  the day I could put letters into words. I was fond of reading English storybooks. Enid Blyton was one of my favourite authors when I was a kid.I always  dream of becoming an author myself but ended up teaching which is my passion too.I always wanted to follow my father's footsteps. My father was an English teacher in a primary school and he was also incharged of the library of the school that he taught. I could recalled the sweet memories when my father used to bring brand new books of Enid Blyton back home for me to read. He had to remind that these books were only meant to be borrowed so I had to squeeze some of my time to read. I grew to love English at a very young age. Eventhough, I love English, unfortunately, I did not converse the language with my family or friends, Surprisingly, rather than conversing in my mother tongue, I used to converse in Bahasa Malaysia even to my family members.I tend to be fluent in this language and people especially relatives had their negative perceptions on me saying that I was not good in English. They mocked me throughtout my teenage life but at first it was really devastating when they mocked me in front of others but i grew to ignore them. Adding to that, I stuttered during my teenage life. I had experienced stuttering when I read or communicate with people. But this did not shy me away. So, stuttering and not communicating in English were big problems during my burgeoning life. However, I endured really bad comments from peers and relatives. I remember crying myself to sleep asking God why I have to go through this as I could not take any more slurs by my friends and relative when I stuttered.Stuttering became really bad at the age of 16. I did not see any speech therapy as I was shy to consult them. But it did not stop me from talking as I love to talk.Teasing and mocking when I stutter was normal for me then.I am not a person who stand up and fight for myself.I would describe myself as a coward person then due to all these circumstances. But one fine day, one of my teachers advised me that we were born for a reason. Despite all these problems, my teacher said there is a solution for everything. My teacher, Miss. Nona advised me on getting into the habit of reading in front of a mirror which will really helped alleviate the stuttering problem. I was overwhelmed and practiced as what she had told.

I took her advice and yes,to my astonishment,my stuttering problem has solved. I pursued my degree in English language studies in UKM a decade ago and now I'm an English teacher in a primary school in Klang.Many of my friends were shocked when they bummed into me and asking me how I could get rid of my speech problem. I just shy them away by saying "It's a miracle for me. Miss Nona was the life saviour for me. she was like a godsent to me to solve my problem. Life was like a ferris wheel. A  little ups and downs thorughout my journey. I'm so lucky as I married to the love of my life who does really care about me and blessed with the most cutest boy.

                                 love of my life, Mr. Saravanan.

                    giving birth to him was the greatest gift from god

I feel I am really blessed with my life. Yes, until today people still ridicule me for taking my Masters in English, a girl who is not fluent in English taking up Masters????. Well, to those people out there, I am here to proove that you are wrong. Put away your  negative thoughts. Nothing is impossible. To me everything is possible if you put EFFORT and POSITIVITY in you. I am enjoying my life going to classes and meeting my new friends who are so much younger to me. I guess I am the oldest in the class. I am really proud of them as they help each other and treating me like their own sister. Seeing these people, making me envy for not having younger siblings.I am really looking forward to endure this precious life eventhough it's tough when I'm away from my son. But I know sacrifise is the key to success. No pain, no gain people. Well, thats a few of tweeny weeny story about me..Last but not least, enjoy your life to the fullest as life is short. Don't waste your time worrying about people who  mock you because I believe in this;

GOD has four gifts for you,
A key for every problem
A light for every shadow
A plan for Every tomorrow
And a Joy For every sorrow ( I'm not sure who had written this but I love it so much.)

Thats all folks.. Till we meet again. Take care and have  a blast..Signing off...
